Narrative
It follows a group of military super-humans consisting of a human leader, a werewolf, a vampire, Frankenstein’s monster, and a gorgon. Series writer and creator James Gunn is seen in the opening titles with a laptop typing a script. Featured in AniMat’s Crazy Cartoon Cast: The Return of the King (of the Hill) (2023).

Based on the commercial for this series, for me it was highly anticipated with excitement to see DC have a bunch of monsters on one team. While watching the two episodes, I feel quite confused, too rushed where I’m not fully understanding a story. The action is there, but some of the character voices seem quite methodical.
What’s next, one episode per season?
I’m not happy that there are 7 episodes for a season. This needs to be 14 to 24 for a season. I like the idea of a team, but I want to have a better understanding so I can feel invested in the characters but not feel rushed and lost in the show.
I hope they improve season 2 and I will continue to watch this show
Reading the comics is one thing, but the main problem with DC is that they don’t let you enjoy the characters enough to understand what they’re going through in the series or movies. James Gunn, please let me love this show and the characters more and stop rushing a project that could be fantastic. “One Hundred Years of Solitude” is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
